Olive Oils, your ally in the search for happiness

Are you happy? Depending on where you live, what are your chances of being happy? Now it’s possible to find out, thanks to the World Happiness Report published by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network.

The study analyzed multiple factors that directly indicate a society’s level of happiness, such as real GDP per capita and freedom from corruption. Another key factor for our happiness is health, and for that we need to eat well.

A nutritious diet is important for our health and helps us live longer, both of which contribute to our quality of life. In this sense, the Mediterranean Diet directly contributes to a better quality of life, according to a study published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition, whose results confirmed the direct association between the Mediterranean Diet and an improvement in physical and mental health, thanks to an improvement in vitality, social functioning and emotional problems.

The SUN project, through the University of Navarra, analyzes the Mediterranean Diet and has affirmed the existence of a direct association between this diet and good mental and emotional health. The ongoing research, which began in 1999, has studied the evolution of more than 10,000 people and continues to add 2,000 more volunteers each year.

Among the virtues of the Mediterranean Diet is that it also contributes to a longer life expectancy by helping to prevent Alzheimer’s disease and cardiovascular diseases.

This diet is rich in vegetables, wine, fruit, fish and, of course, Olive Oil, its fundamental pillar. For this reason, we can say that Olive Oil increases your happiness as well as the flavour of your food. Above all, Olive Oils from Spain, which enjoy the top spots in many international rankings.

Olive Oil and the Mediterranean Diet can help you find happiness. Will you give them a try?
