How to make crispy air fryer salmon

  1. Start by patting the salmon fillets dry with paper towels to remove any excess moisture. Then, using a sharp knife, make shallow cuts in the skin diagonally, creating a diamond pattern to make the skin even crispier during cooking.
  2. In a bowl, mix the Spanish olive oil, salt, ground black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Mix the ingredients until well combined.
  3. Generously coat the salmon fillets with the seasoning mixture, making sure to cover all surfaces, including the skin. Let marinate for about 15-20 minutes to allow the flavors to absorb well.
  4. While the salmon is marinating, prepare the crispy coating. In a bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with a pinch of salt and pepper. You can also add dried herbs or additional spices according to your personal taste.
  5. Once fully marinated, place each salmon fillet in the breadcrumb mixture and gently press to ensure the coating sticks. Make sure to completely cover each fillet with breadcrumbs.
  6. Preheat your air fryer to 200°F for 5 minutes. If your air fryer has temperature settings, it's important to use a high temperature setting for a crispy and golden exterior.
  7. Once the air fryer is preheated, carefully place the coated salmon fillets in the air fryer basket, skin side down. Make sure to leave enough space between each for the hot air to circulate freely around each fillet.
  8. Cook the salmon in the air fryer for approximately 10-12 minutes, until golden and crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. Make sure to keep an eye on them to prevent overcooking and so they don’t dry up.
  9. Once the salmon fillets are ready, carefully remove them from the air fryer and serve hot, accompanied by 5 fresh lemon slices.
