Four tablespoons of Olive Oil a day for good health

Consuming Olive Oil has many benefits for our health: it improves cardiovascular function, prevents cardiovascular diseases, reduces the risk of peripheral arterial disease and even helps us feel happier. But how much Olive Oil do we need to eat for our body to enjoy all these benefits?

Prestigious study PREDIMED has the answer. It found that the amount we need to consume is: 40ml a day. With just these Four tablespoons, according to the researchers, we will benefit from the antioxidant and healthy effects of the polyphenols it contains, including lowering of risk of diabetes and lowering blood pressure.

But the best part about the study’s conclusions is that, in addition to helping us be healthier, Olive Oil makes our food taste delicious. Do you have any ideas how to incorporate these Four tablespoons a day so that your health is at 100%? Here are two suggestions:

  • Bread with Olive Oil and salt: drizzle Four tablespoons of oil over a piece of toasted bread and sprinkle with a pinch of salt. You can also add other ingredients you like, such as ham or turkey, garlic or a little piece of cheese. Tasty, simple and healthy!
  • Salads: dressing a refreshing salad with Four tablespoons of Olive Oil gives it that perfect touch of flavour and aroma. For example, try making marinated sardine salad in a citrus dressing or rocket salad with smoked fish and avocado. Delicious!

As you can see, taking care of your health and preventing diseases like cancer or diabetes is as easy as adding a splash of flavour to your daily diet.
