Uses of olive oil for beauty

Olive oil is a mainstay of the Mediterranean cuisine and is made from olives. When ingested, the oil has numerous nutritional benefits, but it is also widely applied to the skin and hair. It has been used as a natural beauty product for ages; rich in vitamins and antioxidants, it is an excellent moisturizer and cleanser for the entire body.

Olive oil is a natural antioxidant, which means it protects cells from oxidation

Antioxidants, when applied to the skin, may help to prevent premature aging. Furthermore, some study suggests that using olive oil to the skin after sun exposure may help to combat canker sores.

The beauty benefits and properties of olive oil

The following are some of the skin benefits of olive oil:

  1. Skin Moisturizer

Olive oil will penetrate deep into the skin and create a long-lasting layer of moisture to maintain skin smooth and supple, whether applied to the face or the body. It’s best used to damp skin as a night cream or daily moisturizer, since the water will aid to eliminate any greasiness. Extra virgin olive oil is recommended.

  1. Vitamin content

The fat-soluble vitamin E is found in olive oil. Some of these vitamins might be good for your skin.

  1. Skin Polishing and Body Scrub

Extra virgin olive oil can be used as a body scrub (crush a dozen strawberries with a teaspoon of sugar and olive oil) or a face polisher to remove dirt and grime from your skin when coupled with strawberries (mash about eight berries with extra virgin olive oil allowing enough time for the oil to soak into the berries).

  1. Nail and Cuticle Care

Extra virgin olive oil is a simple and effective treatment for dry nails and cuticles. Simply apply a few drops around the nail and into the cuticle region. Cuticles stay supple and moisturized, and nails take on a natural sheen.

  1. Eye Makeup Remover

It only takes a few drops of extra virgin olive oil on a cotton pad to remove eye makeup gently and effectively without disturbing the sensitive skin around the eyes. Olive oil has the extra benefit of softening the skin around the eyes and smoothing out wrinkles when used regularly.

To conclude, you can find a lot of beauty products that contain olive oil, such as shampoos, moisturizers, and scrubs.
