“When mighty Roast Beef was the Englishman’s food,
It ennobled our brains and enriched our blood.
Our soldiers were brave and our courtiers were good
Oh! the Roast Beef of old England,
And old English Roast Beef!”
Not everyone knows this old ballad by Henry Fielding{, but who hasn’t spent a Sunday at home with their parents, in-laws, friends and family enjoying a delicious roast beef dinner?
So sacred is this custom that Florence Sandeman, of Recipes4us, decided to pay homage to one of the accompaniments to the Sunday roast by declaring the first Sunday of February to be British Yorkshire Pudding Day. We, too, would like to make our own small contribution to this Sunday roast tradition.
For this reason, here is our version of Yorkshire pudding made with Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Spain and a little bit of bacon.
Now you have the perfect side dish for a Sunday roast. Do you fill your Yorkshire puddings with anything? Let us know!
We wanted to introduce you to this traditional recipe made with a product that has been used for thousands of years… Olive Oils from Spain. Learn more about the history of our liquid gold.
