5 ways to stay in shape after the summer

Labor Day marks the end of the summer, and sometimes those healthy habits we worked so hard to develop can falter. Here are 5 tips to stay in shape and feel good all year long.

Cook your own meals!

After summer vacation, getting back into our routines can be difficult and sometimes we tend to eat any type of “fast food” because we don’t have time. That’s why preparing what we’re going to eat is so important. Try making snacks that you can bring to the office with you or munch on at home between meals. A fruit and vegetable salad with a bit of Paprika Oil, or some pumpkin seeds fried in Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Spain make a delicious, healthy snack.

Plan the week’s dinners in advance and buy the ingredients you need to make them. Remember to always have a bottle of Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Spain n your kitchen — it will make it easier to eat healthy every day! Try to use it instead of all of those unhealthy sauces or polyunsaturated oils.

Drink a lot of water

Drinking water ensures that your body can digest and function properly. Also, sometimes your brain confuses hunger with thirst. Drink a glass of water before meals and avoid consuming unnecessary calories. We recommend always carrying a bottle of water with you; that way it will be easier to drink the amount of water your body needs.

Try a different exercise routine

A sedentary lifestyle is bad for your health, so if you don’t like to work out alone, why not work out with a group? You’ll have fun while staying in shape. A game with the guys on Sundays, going hiking once a month, a weekly yoga class with friends… Get creative with your ideas and make them a fun routine!

Enjoy food, but in moderation

It’s perfectly understandable to treat yourself once in a while, but it’s important to do so in moderation. If you have a craving for chocolate cake, take just a slice! Whenever you can, have fruit instead of sweets and remember: the goal is to be in shape, which translates into a balanced diet.

These tips will help you stay in shape and get back into your routine in a positive way. What about you? Do you have any ideas for dealing with the end of summer vacation? Share them with us!
